A failed policy with unintended consequences. This law does nothing to stop youth vaping. Instead, it pushes sales to nearby cities like Lakewood and Aurora, draining revenue from Denver businesses while reducing local oversight.
Voters don’t want this. In a January Spotlight Research poll, not one respondent identified banning flavored vapes as a priority. Two-thirds of voters said it was a low priority or not a priority at all for the City Council.
Hypocrisy in policy. Denver trusts adults to make their own choices regarding alcohol and marijuana, yet denies them the same right for vape products—despite strict enforcement already in place to prevent sales to minors.
